KARKKIDAKA KANJI PREPARATION AND DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME
The Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady organised a Karkkidaka Kanji Preparation and Distribution Programme as part of the institution’s traditional and wellness initiatives. The event was held on 29th Karkkidakam at 12:00 PM and aimed at promoting health awareness and traditional Ayurvedic dietary practices among students and staff during the Karkkidakam season.
Karkkidaka Kanji, a renowned Ayurvedic medicinal porridge prepared using a combination of special herbs, grains and spices, is widely believed to enhance immunity and physical well-being. As part of the programme, the ingredients were carefully selected and the Kanji was prepared following authentic traditional methods.
The programme witnessed active participation from teachers, non-teaching staff, and student-teachers. After preparation, the Karkkidaka Kanji was distributed to all members of the college community. Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative and acknowledged the importance of preserving traditional health practices that support both physical and mental wellness.
The event served its purpose by creating awareness on the relevance of Ayurvedic food culture, especially during monsoon season, and by fostering togetherness among the college community. The programme concluded successfully with positive feedback from the participants.
