The Physical Science Club of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady was officially formed on 5th August 2025 with the active participation of students and teachers. In the first meeting, members and coordinators were selected and the leadership of the club was established. Harinarayanan A was elected as the President, Haridev K A as the Secretary, and Reshmaraj P P as the Treasurer. The gathering also made initial decisions about how the club should function, with an emphasis on promoting curiosity, teamwork, and scientific learning among the members.
The club was formally inaugurated on 4th August 2025 in a function graced by Mrs. Rekha Raj, Head Mistress of the school, S.N.D.P HSS Neeleeswaram who officially declared the commencement of the club. During the inaugural program, the Secretary, Haridev K A, introduced the name and logo of the club to the audience and also explained the main aims and objectives of its activities. The objectives highlighted were the need to build scientific temper among students, encourage the development of a scientific attitude, and create a vibrant community of young learners inspired by science.
Following this, the members discussed and noted down the major events in which the club would participate and organize programs in the coming months. The important dates finalized were Independence Day on August 15, Teachers’ Day on September 5, World Space Week from October 4 to 10, National Chemistry Week from October 19 to 25, International Week of Science and Peace from November 1 to 7, and National Science Day on February 28. These events were seen as opportunities for the students to engage in creative scientific activities, exhibitions, and awareness programs.
The meeting concluded with all members expressing their enthusiasm and determination to make the Physical Science Club a lively and effective platform for scientific exploration. The participants resolved to work collectively towards spreading scientific awareness in the school and the community, and to nurture a spirit of inquiry and innovation.
