REPORT ON PHOTOGRAPHY AND ESSAY WRITING COMPETITIONS
The Ekta Social Science Club of Adi Sankara Training College, Kallady, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized two creative competitions on 12th August 2025 as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The day commenced with the Photography Competition held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the college campus. The theme for the event was “Freedom”, inspiring participants to capture images that expressed liberty, independence, and the spirit of being free. Students actively participated, showcasing their talent and creativity through unique photographic perspectives. The event received overwhelming enthusiasm, and the best entries were shortlisted for exciting prizes.
In the afternoon, the Essay Writing Competition took place from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The topic was provided on the spot, and the language of the competition was Malayalam. Participants were required to write an essay of 500–600 words within the one-hour time limit. The competition aimed to enhance students’ writing skills, critical thinking, and ability to express thoughts on socially relevant themes.
Both events successfully engaged the students in activities that blended creativity with patriotism. The initiative of the Ekta Social Science Club and NSS not only encouraged participation in co-curricular activities but also deepened the students’ understanding of the value of freedom.
