 ENERGY MANAGEMENT CELL

Energy conservation is a need of the time. As we get energy from a lot of resources we are not that much careful about its conservation. We must should remember the fact that energy must be conserved for our future generation. On August 4 the committee members were elected in presence of Assistant Professor Rosemol Varghese, Faculty in charge. Noyal Thomas from 1st year physical science was elected as the president, Rajitha M Subran as secretary and Maria George as Treasurer, both from physical science option. As a beginning of our activities we had pasted a few posters in front of all electrical appliances to remind the students the need to conserve energy on 25th August. We will be organizing a lot of programs to promote energy conservation.

Ramakrishna mission temple - visit









 

The Tourism Club of Adisankara Training College, Kalady organized a Local Visit – “Knowing In and Around” on 27th August 2025. The programme started at 9:30 am from the college campus (ASTC, Kalady).
As part of the visit, students along with teachers went to the Sreerama Krishna Mission Ashram, where they were blessed with an inspiring talk by Swamiji. His words motivated the students to cultivate discipline, service-mindedness, and spiritual values in their daily lives. The peaceful atmosphere of the Ashram added to the enriching experience.
The group then visited the Sringeri Madam, a place of cultural and spiritual significance. The students and teachers were warmly welcomed, and as a gesture of hospitality, Payasam was distributed to all.
The programme gave the students an opportunity to understand the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. It was a memorable and enlightening experience, fulfilling the objective of the Tourism Club to make students aware of the cultural treasures “in and around” their locality.




K-TET coaching by Dr Merly



 

The IQAC of Adisankara Training College, Kalady organized an Online Class for K-TET aspirants on 25th August 2025 from 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
The session was handled by Dr. Merly M. D, Assistant Professor, ASTC. The topic of the class was “Individual Difference: Sociocultural Determinants”, which is a significant area in educational psychology and highly relevant for teacher eligibility examinations.
Dr. Merly highlighted the various sociocultural factors that contribute to individual differences among learners and explained their implications in the teaching-learning process. The interactive session provided valuable insights and helped the participants to prepare effectively for the K-TET examination.
The online class was very informative and beneficial, and the participants expressed their gratitude to the IQAC and the resource person for arranging such a meaningful academic session.

Onam 2k25


















            ONAM 2K25

The Onam celebration at Adi Shankara Training College was held on 26th August 2025 with great joy and enthusiasm. The programme began with a colourful procession and Chenda Melam that proceeded till the Engineering College junction, attracting the attention of all.

The cultural events started with Onappattu, which filled the atmosphere with festive cheer, followed by a lively group dance performance by the students. The highlight of the day was the Malayali Manka and Kerala Sreeman competitions, conducted in two rounds, where the participants showcased their elegance and traditional spirit.

A grand Onam Sadhya was served, and it turned out to be a delicious and memorable feast for everyone. The afternoon session was filled with traditional games such as Uriyadi, Vadam Vali and many others, which brought excitement and joy to both participants and spectators.

The celebration beautifully reflected the essence of Onam — togetherness, cultural pride, and happiness. It was a day cherished by the entire college community.




IKS cell









  IKS (Indian Knowledge System)

       Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, formally introduced the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) with an inaugural session held at the College Auditorium at 10.30 am. The programme was organised with the objective of familiarising students with India’s rich knowledge traditions and their relevance in modern education.
        The event began with an introduction and welcome address delivered by Anjana K R. This was followed by a brief presentation on the aims and objectives of IKS, which include the dissemination of Indian-based knowledge, organising seminars and workshops, showcasing India’s contributions across diverse fields, and arranging visits to important cultural and religious sites.
         The session also featured thematic talks by students. Dhananjay Krishnan K S spoke on the significance of Vinayakachathurthi, while another talk was presented on Onam, highlighting its cultural and educational values. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Haridev K A, the President of IKS.
         The coordinators and members of IKS were also introduced during the session. The initiative is mentored by Dr. Karpagam S, with Haridev K A serving as President and Dhananjay Krishnan K S as Secretary. All students of the college are members of the cell, ensuring active participation in future activities.
         The programme provided a meaningful platform to appreciate India’s intellectual and cultural heritage while instilling pride in its traditional knowledge systems.




K-TET coaching ON 23rd



 


K-TET Coaching Session
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, organised an Online K-TET Coaching Class on 23rd August 2025 (Saturday) from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM through Google Meet.
The topic of the session was “Intelligence: Concept and Theories, Learning Theories.” The resource person for the programme was Ms. Sharanya S, Assistant Professor, ASTC, Kalady.
In her engaging session, Ms. Sharanya explained the concept of intelligence, various psychological theories related to intelligence, and their implications in the teaching-learning process. She also elaborated on different learning theories and their practical applications, which are essential areas for K-TET preparation. The class was highly informative and interactive, enabling participants to gain conceptual clarity and exam-oriented insights.
The programme proved to be beneficial for teacher trainees and K-TET aspirants, enhancing their knowledge and equipping them with effective strategies to face the examination confidently.

K-TET coaching ( 22nd)




 

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, organised an Online Class for K-TET on 22nd August 2025 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM through the Google Meet platform. The session focused on the important theme “Children with Special Needs.”
The resource person for the programme was Dr. Anuroofa O. M (Assistant Professor, ASTC), who delivered an insightful lecture on the topic. She explained the various aspects of inclusive education, characteristics of children with special needs, and effective strategies to address their learning requirements in classrooms. Her session was highly informative and interactive, providing participants with valuable knowledge and practical tips for the upcoming K-TET examination.
The online class witnessed active participation from students and teacher trainees, who gained a deeper understanding of inclusive practices in education. The programme was successful in enhancing the confidence and preparedness of participants for the K-TET examination.

Anti-Narcotic Cell Preliminary Meeting

 




Report on the Preliminary Meeting of Anti-Narcotic Cell

The preliminary meeting of the Anti-Narcotic Cell was held on 23rd August at the college under the guidance of Assistant Professor Reni, Teacher-in-Charge. The meeting was convened with the objective of planning the activities for the academic year and creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

During the session, student representatives were selected for the Cell. Sreeram E M (Sanskrit option) and Aswarya K Suresh (Hindi option) were chosen as the student representatives. The meeting also discussed and finalized the future action plan. It was decided to organize an awareness class by the Excise Department, aimed at sensitizing students about the dangers of narcotics and the importance of a drug-free campus.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from both teachers and students to work actively towards promoting a healthy and responsible academic environment.

       Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, in association with Ekalavya Academy, organized a Free One-Day Seminar on the theme “Stress-Free Teaching & Better Parenting” on 22nd August 2025. The program was arranged as part of the Abacus Teacher Training Course, with the objective of enhancing effective teaching practices and promoting positive parenting approaches among teachers and parents.

        The seminar was led by Mr. Binoy Cherayi, an expert Abacus Teachers Trainer and Memory Trainer, who is well known for his engaging and practical sessions. He highlighted the importance of stress-free classrooms, innovative teaching methods, and the role of memory techniques in improving learning outcomes. He also emphasized how teachers and parents can collaborate to ensure the holistic development of children.

        The session was highly interactive, filled with practical tips, demonstrations, and motivational inputs that encouraged the participants to rethink their approaches to both teaching and parenting. The speaker also introduced simple stress management techniques that can be applied in daily life, thereby improving both teaching efficiency and family relationships.

         The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from student-teachers, faculty members, and parents. The participants expressed their appreciation for the valuable insights shared during the session and acknowledged the relevance of such training in today’s fast-changing educational scenario.

        The program concluded on a positive note with a message of adopting innovative strategies for effective teaching and balanced parenting. The organizers expressed gratitude to Ekalavya Academy for their collaboration and to Mr. Binoy Cherayi for his inspiring guidance.

Folklore Club

      The Folklore Club of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, in association with IQAC, organized a vibrant session on 22nd August 2025 at the college auditorium. The program was conducted by Mr. Prasanth Nattupolima (Resource Person) and Mr. Manu Nattupolima (Instrumental).
        The session began with a warm welcome, followed by an engaging presentation on the importance of folklore in preserving cultural identity. Mr. Prasanth Nattupolima introduced the students to the rich heritage of Kerala’s traditional art forms, storytelling practices, and symbolic representations in folk culture. He emphasized how folklore serves as a bridge between generations, sustaining values, beliefs, and traditions in a rapidly modernizing world.
        Complementing the session, Mr. Manu Nattupolima enriched the experience with instrumental accompaniments, creating an immersive environment that connected participants with the rhythms and sounds of folk traditions.
       The event was highly interactive, with students actively participating and gaining deeper insights into Kerala’s cultural heritage. The use of visual aids and live demonstrations made the session lively and memorable.
       The program concluded with an appreciation note, where the college acknowledged the contributions of the resource persons and emphasized the need for more such initiatives to nurture cultural awareness among future teachers.
      Overall, the session was an inspiring blend of knowledge and performance, instilling pride in local traditions while encouraging students to preserve and promote folklore.
