Orientation Programme on Palliative Care
The Palliative Care Club of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady organized an Orientation Programme on Palliative Care on 8th October 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the college auditorium. The event was held in connection with World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, aiming to create awareness among student teachers about the importance and values of palliative care in society.
The session was inaugurated by Dr. Mujeeb Kuttamassery, Director of Life Care Foundation Palliative Care Center, Chalackal, Aluva. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. K. Radhakrishnan Menon, National Secretary of the National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH and Integrative Medicine (NAPCAIM). He elaborated on the topic “What is Palliative Care – NAPCAIM and Its Activities” and emphasized the significance of compassion, empathy, and service in caring for terminally ill patients.
The Vice Principal of the college Mrs Praseeda V extended a warm welcome and appreciated the initiative of the Palliative Care Club for organizing such a meaningful programme. Faculty members and student teachers actively participated and gained valuable insights into the scope and need of palliative care in today’s world.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion where participants clarified their doubts and shared reflections on how future teachers can promote humanitarian values through such activities. The programme was both informative and inspiring, instilling in participants a sense of social responsibility and empathy.
