Awareness Class on Educational Opportunities Abroad
The National and International Opportunities Cell of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, in association with the IQAC, organized an Opportunity Awareness Class on educational opportunities abroad on September 30, Tuesday. The program aimed at equipping student teachers with valuable knowledge regarding global career avenues, academic prospects, and procedures for pursuing education and employment opportunities abroad.
The sessions were led by two eminent resource persons.
Session 1 (4.30 PM)
The first session was handled by Mr. Rahulraj Thuruthi, Academic Centre Head, GoScore Middle East, Kuwait. He spoke extensively about the scope of higher education and teaching careers in the Middle East. He explained the requirements, skill sets, and professional competencies expected in the region. He also guided the students about academic equivalency procedures, institutional tie-ups, and pathways for teachers aspiring to work in Gulf countries. His practical insights and experiences were highly beneficial to student teachers who wish to expand their careers in international platforms.
Session 2 (7.30–8.00 PM)
The second session was taken by Ms. Anjana Joshy (M.Com, B.Ed, NET, SET, Interim Teacher’s License Level 6, New Brunswick, Canada) and Mrs Siya Antu , Fraser coastal International college , Richmond, British Columbia, Canada they enlightened the audience on the educational opportunities in Canada. She highlighted the procedures for securing teaching licenses, qualification equivalency, and the relevance of advanced training and certifications required for Canadian schools. She also emphasized the demand for qualified teachers in Canada and the systematic process involved in visa applications and settlement. Her session was particularly inspiring for student teachers who aspire to pursue their teaching career in Western countries.
Both sessions were highly interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts about job opportunities, academic equivalency, and visa processing. The resource persons motivated the participants to broaden their vision, embrace global opportunities, and prepare themselves for international teaching careers.
The program was successful in providing comprehensive awareness and guidance to future educators. It proved to be an enriching experience that enabled student teachers to explore multiple career avenues beyond national boundaries.
