 SCIENCE CLUB ACTIVITY

Day 1 – 15th October 2025 (Work Experience)

As part of our Science Club Activity, we, the first-year B.Ed trainees from Adi Shankara Training College, Kalady, visited SNDP Higher Secondary School Neeleeswaram on 15th October 2025. The day was devoted to voluntary service and practical school-level work experience.

On this day, we served as invigilators and volunteers for a total of 38 items on work experience like conducted under different sections — LP, UP, HS, and HSS. Details of all the participating items will be listed below. Students from different schools in Angamaly subdisrict participated in various competitions such as book binding, pottery painting, beads work, paper craft, origami, waste materials, wood work, stuffed toys ,food items, electronics, budding layering and grafting etc.

Total 14 trainee was assigned specific responsibilities. We assisted in invigilation duties, time management, guiding participants, arranging venues, helping judges, and maintaining discipline throughout the events. Working as part of the organizing team gave us real exposure to how large-scale school programmes are managed efficiently.

This experience was particularly helpful in developing our leadership qualities, teamwork, punctuality, and communication skills. We also learned the importance of cooperation and discipline in maintaining a smooth academic atmosphere. Observing students of different levels allowed us to understand variations in learning styles and motivation across age groups.

Through this day’s work, we gained a clear idea of how co-curricular activities help in the overall development of students and how teachers play a vital role in organizing and supervising such programmes.

Day 2 – 16th October 2025 (Sastramela)

The second day, held on 16th October 2025, was dedicated to the Sastramela, at SNDP Higher Secondary School. This day was especially meaningful for us as Physical Science students, as it allowed us to practically experience the integration of science learning with creativity and innovation.

A total of 34 B.Ed trainees with 14 students from physical science,ADI SANKARA TRAINING COLLEGE KALADY were assigned to different sections and venues of the science fair. We actively participated in arranging exhibits, guiding student participants, setting up, invigilation duties, time management and observing the scientific principles from students judges.

The event displayed a wide range of scientific ideas — from renewable energy models and water purification systems to environmental conservation experiments and everyday science demonstrations. It was inspiring to see how young students connected science to daily life through simple yet effective experiments.

As Physical Science trainees, we found this day extremely valuable. It enhanced our understanding of scientific inquiry and the experimental learning process. We observed how curiosity, observation, and hands-on practice can make science engaging for learners. The experience also taught us how to motivate students to think scientifically, ask questions, and apply logic to real-world problems.

Through our involvement, we developed better skills in explaining scientific concepts, organizing educational events, and encouraging innovation among learners. We also realized the importance of science clubs in promoting teamwork, creativity, and scientific temper.

This day helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, and strengthened our confidence as future science educators who can inspire similar enthusiasm in students.
