NATIONAL SEMINAR
A National Seminar on the theme “Transforming Education in India: Innovation, Inclusivity, Institutional Excellence and Internationalisation in the Light of NEP 2020” was successfully conducted on 24th March 2026 at Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady. The seminar was organized by the IQAC of the college in collaboration with the Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF), Kerala Chapter.
The programme commenced at 10:00 AM in the college auditorium with a formal inaugural session. The seminar was presided over by the Principal, Dr. N. K. Arjunan, who highlighted the significance of aligning teacher education with the transformative vision of NEP 2020. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. M. S. Geetha, Former Dean and Faculty of Education, University of Kerala, who emphasized innovation, inclusivity, and quality enhancement in education.
A significant highlight of the seminar was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Adi Sankara Training College and the Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF), Kerala Chapter. This MoU marks a milestone in fostering academic collaboration, promoting research activities, and enhancing professional development initiatives in teacher education.
The seminar featured eminent resource persons who shared their expert insights. Prof. (Dr.) Malini P. M., Retired Principal of N.S.S. Training College, Pandalam, spoke on “NEP 2020: Catalysing India’s Educational Revolution”, focusing on innovative pedagogical transformations. Prof. (Dr.) V. Reghu, Former Dean and Controller of Examinations, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, delivered a session on “NEP 2020 and Trends in Higher Education”, discussing emerging trends and policy implications. Dr. Bindhu M. P., Associate Professor, Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, presented on “Emerging Innovations and Best Pedagogical Practices in Teacher Education”, highlighting digital integration and learner-centered approaches.
The seminar aimed to analyse the vision of NEP 2020, explore innovative teaching-learning practices, promote inclusive and equitable education, and examine opportunities for internationalisation in higher education. Various sub-themes such as multidisciplinary education, competency-based learning, research and innovation, and student well-being were discussed in depth.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from academicians, research scholars, and students. Paper presentations enriched the academic environment and encouraged research culture and collaboration among participants.
The seminar concluded with a valedictory session followed by a formal vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the resource persons, organizing committee, participants, and all contributors.
Overall, the seminar was highly successful in achieving its objectives and served as a valuable platform for academic exchange, professional growth, and institutional collaboration in the field of teacher education.

Sanskrit Language Enrichment programme
Enrichment Programme for Sanskrit Students
“ध्येयम् संस्कृतम्” (Dhyeyam Samskrutam)
An enrichment programme titled “ध्येयम् संस्कृतम्” (Dhyeyam Samskrutam) was organized by the Yashasvi Sanskrit Club of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, in association with IQAC, from 9 March 2026 to 18 March 2026, between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm.
The programme aimed at enhancing the Sanskrit proficiency of students and fostering greater interest in the Sanskrit language and its cultural heritage. The sessions were handled by Sri Devesh M.P., Vanaprasthi Shikshana Pramukh, Viswasamskrita Pratishthanam, who served as the resource person for the programme.
During the sessions, the resource person introduced students to various aspects of Sanskrit learning, including correct pronunciation, conversational Sanskrit, vocabulary development, and the practical usage of Sanskrit in daily life. The interactive nature of the classes encouraged active student participation and helped build confidence in speaking Sanskrit.
The programme concluded on 18 March 2026 with a valedictory session (Samapana Samarohah). Students shared their experiences and expressed their appreciation for the valuable learning opportunity. The resource person was honoured with a token of gratitude in recognition of his dedicated service and insightful sessions.
The enrichment programme proved to be highly beneficial and inspiring for the students. It successfully strengthened their linguistic skills and deepened their appreciation for Sanskrit language and literature. The initiative reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting classical languages and enriching academic experiences beyond the curriculum.

National Vaccination Day
National Vaccination Day- Awareness Class
On 16th March, an awareness class was conducted by the Natural Science Club in connection with Vaccination Day to highlight the importance of vaccination in maintaining public health and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the role of vaccines in building immunity and protecting the community.
Students from the Natural Science Department, Sona Joby and Arsha Chandran, gave a detailed account of the significance of vaccination. They explained how vaccines help the body develop resistance against various diseases and emphasized the importance of timely immunization. Their presentation was informative and engaging, helping students understand the value of vaccination in everyday life.
The session was well received by the participants and served as an effective platform to spread awareness about health and hygiene. The programme concluded successfully, leaving the students with a better understanding of the importance of vaccination in safeguarding individual and public health.
Farewell & Iftar- 2026
Farewell Party – “Final Frame Iftar Night with Music”
A farewell party titled “Final Frame – Iftar Night with Music” was organized at Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The programme was arranged as a memorable send-off for the outgoing batch and to celebrate the strong bond shared among students and teachers.
The event began with a warm welcome to all attendees, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere. Students from both the outgoing batch and the present batch actively participated in the celebrations. A variety of cultural programmes were presented by students, including music, dance, and other entertaining performances. These programmes showcased the talents of the students and added colour and enthusiasm to the occasion. The cultural performances also provided an opportunity for the outgoing students to relive their memorable moments and for the present batch to express their love and respect.
A special highlight of the programme was the Iftar gathering, which promoted unity, sharing, and cultural harmony among students and staff. The evening also featured music and interactive sessions, making the programme lively and enjoyable. Students captured memorable moments through photographs and shared heartfelt messages, making the farewell both joyful and emotional.
The farewell party concluded on a happy yet emotional note, leaving everyone with cherished memories of friendship, gratitude, and togetherness. The programme was a grand success and will remain a memorable occasion for both the outgoing and present batches of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady.
