Students’ Achievement in SET Exam 2025

The students of our college brought laurels by securing remarkable success in the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2025. A total of ten students qualified the examination, which is considered as a prestigious benchmark for aspiring educators. Among them, six were from 2023-25 batch and four were from 2024-26 batch, reflecting the consistent academic excellence across batches. Our SET winners are:

National and international educational opportunities cell




 Report on the Online Awareness Class on Educational Opportunities in Germany

An online Opportunity Awareness Class was organised by IQAC of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady in association with the National & International Opportunities Cell on Sunday, 28 September at 12.30 pm. The session was handled by Ms. Hasna M.A. (M.Sc., B.Ed.), who is currently pursuing her Master’s in Biological Resources at Düsseldorf, Germany.

Ms. Hasna gave a detailed presentation on the various higher education prospects in Germany for B.Ed. graduates. She explained the scope of pursuing Master’s programmes in Education and allied disciplines and highlighted the advantages of studying in Germany such as internationally recognised degrees, low or no tuition fees in public universities, and the availability of English-taught courses.

The resource person also elaborated on the application procedures including university selection, preparation of academic documents, language proficiency requirements (IELTS/TOEFL or TestDaF), and the importance of applying through portals like DAAD and Uni-Assist. She further guided participants through the student visa process, giving step-by-step instructions regarding admission letters, blocked accounts, health insurance, and residence permits.

In addition, Ms. Hasna shared valuable insights on job opportunities available to international students during and after their studies, including part-time work during the course and post-study employment prospects in the German education and research sectors.

The interactive session provided clarity and motivation for students aspiring to continue their higher education abroad. The class concluded with an engaging question–answer segment in which participants clarified their doubts about scholarships, cost of living, and cultural adaptation in Germany.

The programme was highly informative and inspired the B.Ed. students to explore international pathways for academic and career growth.

Youth Awareness Programme






Youth Awareness Programme
A Youth Awareness Programme was organised by National Service Scheme of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The programme aimed to inspire students to develop leadership qualities, civic responsibility, and social awareness.
The session was led by Miss Padma, a final year Law student, who delivered an insightful talk on the active role of youth in nation-building and community development. She got the resource materials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports . She highlighted the importance of legal awareness, social responsibility, and participation in constructive activities for the progress of society.
Student teachers and NSS volunteers took part enthusiastically by sharing key messages, reading facts, and presenting quotes that emphasised the power of youth in driving positive change. The interactive atmosphere and engaging discussions made the programme both informative and motivational, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.

REPORT ON ISRO EXHIBITION VISIT

 Report on ISRO Exhibition Visit

The ISRO Exhibition Visit was organized by Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, under the guidance of SciVerse. The programme was conducted on 23rd September 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sree Sankara College, Kalady, in collaboration with the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram

The exhibition aimed at fostering scientific curiosity among students and the public by showcasing India’s remarkable achievements in space research. Various models and exhibits of significant space missions, including Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, and satellite projects, were displayed. Informative sessions were also held, highlighting ISRO’s contributions to space exploration and its future plans.

Participants were provided with opportunities to interact with experts, which helped them gain valuable insights into the applications of space science and technology. The event served as an effective extension of classroom learning by connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world innovations.

The exhibition generated widespread enthusiasm, instilling a sense of national pride and motivating students to pursue scientific and technological fields. It proved to be a highly enriching experience, successfully achieving its objective of making India’s space achievements accessible to all.






IKS Bommai Kolu Visit






  IKS Bommai Kolu Visit

As part of the Navaratri celebrations, the IKS (Indian Knowledge System) cell of Adi Sankara Training College organised a Bommai Kolu Visit on 23rd September 2025. The visit was arranged to Sree Sarada Vidyalaya at 1.30 PM.

Bommai Kolu, also known as Golu or Gombe Habba, is a traditional South Indian practice of displaying dolls and figurines during the Navaratri festival. This vibrant arrangement of idols symbolises the victory of good over evil and reflects the rich cultural heritage of India.

During the visit, student teachers observed the beautifully arranged Kolu steps decorated with thematic doll displays and gained insights into the customs, significance, and rituals associated with Navaratri. The programme provided an enriching cultural experience and enhanced the participants’ understanding of Indian traditions.

The visit concluded with an interactive session where students shared their reflections, making the event both educational and memorable.

ASTC - Literary Club












 Report on Role Play and Face Painting Competition

The Debate Club of our college organized a Role Play and Face Painting Competition with the exciting theme “Halloween”. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and creativity, providing a platform for students to showcase their artistic and dramatic talents.

Students from all the optional subjects actively participated in both events. The Role Play competition featured a variety of spooky and imaginative performances, bringing to life classic Halloween characters and stories. Participants impressed the audience with their confidence, expressions, and teamwork.

The Face Painting competition added vibrant color and creativity to the celebration. Students transformed their peers into witches, ghosts, monsters, and other Halloween-inspired figures using impressive artistic skills.

The event successfully blended fun, art, and imagination, making it a memorable experience for everyone. The Debate Club members coordinated the programme efficiently, ensuring smooth conduct of all activities. The Halloween-themed competitions truly highlighted the students’ enthusiasm and creativity.

Overall, the event was a grand success and added a festive spirit to the college atmosphere.

Report on Yoga Workshop
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady organized a Yoga Workshop on 17th September 2025 at the college auditorium. The session began at 9:30 am with great enthusiasm and active participation from teacher trainees.
The resource person for the programme was Mr. Hari Kumar, a renowned Yoga Trainer, who shared his expertise on the significance of yoga in maintaining physical health, mental well-being, and emotional balance. He emphasized the importance of practicing yoga regularly to manage stress, improve concentration, and enhance overall lifestyle.
The workshop commenced with an inaugural session, followed by practical demonstrations. Students actively participated by practicing different yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques under the guidance of the trainer. The hall was filled with an atmosphere of discipline and serenity as participants engaged wholeheartedly in the activities.
The programme proved to be highly beneficial as it created awareness about the relevance of yoga in daily life, especially for teacher trainees who carry the responsibility of imparting holistic education.
The workshop concluded with an interactive session where students clarified their doubts and shared their experiences. The IQAC members extended gratitude to the resource person for his valuable session and to all participants for their cooperation in making the event a grand success.

Communicative English Workshop





 Communicative English Workshop
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady organized a Communicative English Workshop on 16th September 2025 at 9:30 a.m. The session was conducted with the objective of enhancing the communication skills of student teachers and equipping them with effective strategies for using English in both academic and professional contexts.
The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Rajesh Mohan, a Certified Psycho Linguistic Trainer with qualifications including M.A. (Literature), M.A. (History), and M.Phil. He shared his expertise in linguistics and communication, focusing on the importance of clarity, confidence, and correctness in spoken English.
The workshop was highly interactive, engaging participants in practical activities, role plays, and discussions that helped them overcome language barriers and improve fluency. The resource person also highlighted various techniques for better pronunciation, vocabulary enrichment, and effective classroom communication.
The session proved to be informative and motivating, receiving positive feedback from the participants. It greatly contributed to building confidence among future teachers in using English as a medium of effective communication.
