1. Introduction
As part of the Orientation Programme for first-year B.Ed students, a session titled “Teacher as a Techno-Pedagogue” was conducted to introduce students to the concept of integrating technology with pedagogy. The session aimed to sensitize future educators to the evolving role of teachers in the 21st-century classroom and equip them with basic digital tools to enhance teaching-learning practices.

2. Objectives of the Session
To introduce the concept of techno-pedagogy and its relevance in modern classrooms.

To familiarize students with essential educational technology tools such as Canva, Kinemaster, and Google Classroom.

To encourage hands-on participation in designing digital teaching materials.

To promote creativity and collaborative learning among student-teachers.

3. Session Highlights
The session began with an interactive introduction to the term “Techno-Pedagogue,” discussing the evolving teacher roles in technology-integrated classrooms.

Demonstrations were given on how to use Canva to design creative posters, lesson templates, certificates, and infographics.

Kinemaster, a mobile video editing app, was introduced for creating short educational videos, lesson introductions, and reflective vlogs.

Students were also introduced to Google Classroom, which will be used throughout the year as the primary digital learning platform for communication, assignment submission, and collaborations.

4. Hands-on Activities
Students were divided into small groups and assigned the task of creating digital posters on the theme: "The Role of Teachers in the Digital Era."

Each group used Canva to design a poster highlighting key traits of a techno-pedagogue.

The same groups created short introductory videos using Kinemaster, showcasing their understanding of technology integration in teaching.

All outputs (posters and videos) were uploaded by the students in a shared Google Classroom, created specifically for this activity.

5. Outcomes
Students demonstrated active participation and enthusiasm in exploring digital tools.

The posters reflected creative and critical thinking about the role of technology in education.

The videos created were highly engaging and served as effective peer-learning tools.

Students became familiar with Google Classroom, fostering a strong start to digital classroom integration.

The activity laid the foundation for developing 21st-century teaching skills among B.Ed trainees.

6. Feedback and Reflection
Students expressed appreciation for the practical nature of the session.

Many found Canva and Kinemaster easy to use and valuable for future teaching.

There was a collective realization of the importance of techno-pedagogy in enhancing student engagement and differentiated instruction.

7. Conclusion
The orientation session successfully introduced the B.Ed students to the fundamentals of being a techno-pedagogue. Through exposure to tools like Canva, Kinemaster, and Google Classroom, the students gained firsthand experience in content creation and digital collaboration. This initiative not only enriched the orientation programme but also fostered a culture of innovation and tech integration among future educators.

The Convocation Ceremony of the B.Ed. 2023–2025 batch was held with great pride and celebration at Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, on 18th July 2025 at 11:00 AM in the college auditorium. The ceremony marked a significant academic milestone in the lives of the graduating student-teachers, acknowledging their hard work, dedication, and academic achievements.

The formal proceedings began with a Prayer, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the day. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation as students, parents, faculty, and dignitaries gathered to witness this memorable event.

The Welcome Speech was delivered by Dr. N. K. Arjunan, Principal of ASTC, Kalady, who warmly greeted the gathering and reflected on the academic journey of the students, their participation in curricular and co-curricular activities, and the college’s commitment to shaping competent and compassionate educators.

The Presidential Address was given by Sri K. Anand, Managing Trustee of the Adi Sankara Group of Institutions. He congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to embrace their responsibilities as future educators with dedication and sincerity. He also emphasized the value of integrity, innovation, and inclusive education in shaping future citizens.

The Convocation Address was delivered by the distinguished Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kaipilly, Dean and Registrar of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS). In his inspiring speech, he urged the graduates to be reflective practitioners, critical thinkers, and socially responsible educators. He reminded them that teaching is not just a profession but a noble calling that shapes the destiny of individuals and nations.

A significant and emotional highlight of the event was the Graduation Certificate Presentation, where each graduating student received their certificate, symbolizing the successful completion of their professional teacher education program.

The event also featured the Release of the College Magazine, showcasing student creativity, literary talents, academic reflections, and highlights of various college activities conducted throughout the year.

As part of the program, the graduating students took a solemn Teacher’s Oath, pledging to uphold the values of education, treat all learners with respect and fairness, and dedicate themselves to the cause of nation-building through knowledge and compassion. The oath instilled a sense of pride and responsibility in the young educators, affirming their readiness to serve society with commitment and ethics.

The Felicitation Address was given by Smt. Praseeda V, Vice Principal of ASTC, Kalady. She praised the efforts of the students and staff, and acknowledged the role of parents and mentors in shaping the academic journey of the graduates.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mr. Rajesh M. P, Assistant Professor at ASTC, Kalady, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, organizing committee, students, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.

The Convocation Ceremony was a memorable blend of tradition, pride, and celebration—an occasion that reinforced the noble values of the teaching profession and sent forth a new generation of educators prepared to inspire, guide, and lead.

REPORT ON K-TET PREPARATION SESSION
 Topic: Personality Types and Approaches
 Date: 12th August 2025
 Platform: Google Meet
A special K-TET Preparation Session was organized on 12th August 2025 for aspiring candidates, focusing on the topic “Personality Types and Approaches.” The session aimed to equip participants with a clear understanding of different personality concepts, which form an essential part of the K-TET syllabus.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Reni K, Assistant Professor, Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady. She delivered an insightful and well-structured presentation, explaining various personality theories, classifications, and approaches, along with practical examples to make the concepts easily understandable.
Conducted via Google Meet at 8:00 PM, the session attracted enthusiastic participation from teacher trainees and K-TET aspirants. The interactive nature of the class allowed attendees to clarify their doubts and discuss the application of personality theories in the teaching-learning process.
The programme proved to be highly beneficial, enhancing the preparedness of the participants for the examination while enriching their conceptual knowledge in educational psychology.

    Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, conducted the Induction Ceremony for the newly admitted 2025–27 batch of B.Ed. students on July 8, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the college auditorium. The event marked the formal commencement of the academic journey for the new batch of teacher trainees.

The program was graced by esteemed Chief Guests:

    Director, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam
    and
    Director, Inter University Centre for Curriculum Development.

  • Mr. K. Anand,
    Designing Thinker and Senior Media Person, Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering & Technology.

    The event commenced with a warm welcome to the guests, staff, and newly inducted students. The inaugural address emphasized the value of teacher education and the importance of shaping future educators in a dynamic and responsible manner. The Chief Guests offered inspiring speeches, highlighting the evolving role of teachers in the 21st century, and motivated the students to engage with dedication and creativity throughout their training period.

      The induction program also served as an orientation platform, familiarizing the students with the vision and mission of the college, academic expectations, and co-curricular opportunities available.

       The management, faculty, and staff of Adi Sankara Training College extended their full support to the new students, ensuring a nurturing and empowering environment for their holistic development.

      The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady, organized a NAAC Orientation Programme on 6th July 2025 in the college auditorium. The session aimed to create awareness among student-teachers and faculty about the objectives, criteria, and importance of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) process in higher education institutions.
      The resource person for the programme was Dr. K. S. Sajan, Assistant Professor, NSS Training College, Ottapalam, who is an expert in quality assurance practices in teacher education. In his presentation, Dr. Sajan elaborated on the relevance of NAAC accreditation in enhancing institutional quality, the role of teachers and students in maintaining standards, and the significance of continuous self-evaluation.
      He further explained the different NAAC criteria including curricular aspects, teaching-learning and evaluation, research, innovations, extension activities, infrastructure, and best practices. The interactive nature of the session encouraged participants to ask questions and share their perspectives on quality improvement in educational institutions.
       The programme proved to be highly beneficial for the teaching community, as it provided valuable insights into how to align academic practices with NAAC standards. The orientation inspired the participants to contribute actively towards the holistic development and quality enhancement of the college.
       The event concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating Dr. K. S. Sajan for his informative session and the IQAC team for successfully organizing the programme.
