The Children’s Day celebration titled “Little Wonders” was conducted as part of Extension Activity 2 by Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady at Government Lower Primary School, Manickamangalam on 14 November 2025. The programme aimed to honour the spirit of childhood, encourage students’ creativity, and strengthen the bond between the training college and the local school community.
Inaugural Session
The programme began at 9:45 AM with a formal inaugural ceremony. A traditional lighting of the lamp was performed by the faculty members of Adi Sankara Training College Dr S Karpakam along with a student representative from GLPS Manickamangalam. The dignitaries and teachers stood together symbolically spreading the light of knowledge and joy. This moment marked the beginning of a day filled with enthusiasm and celebration.
Procession and Awareness Rally
Following the inauguration, the children, accompanied by teachers and student-teachers, participated in a Children’s Day rally around the nearby locality. The students carried banners and placards highlighting the significance of Children’s Day. Their cheerful slogans and vibrant energy attracted the attention of residents, spreading messages of child rights, education, and well-being. The rally showcased the active participation of students, parents, teachers, and the extension activity team.
Cultural Performances & Activities
Various entertaining and educational programmes were organised by the B.Ed trainees for the school children. The activities included:

The programme ensured joyful participation, creating a lively environment for all children.
